Bio
I was born the youngest of four children in Dearborn, Michigan to a very artistic family. My father, an artist and make-up artist and nurse. My mother, a costume designer and seamtress and housewife. I grew up in a trunk. The family was part of a children's theatre group out of Detroit. By the age of three I was cast in a show and to help me learn my lines my parents made me hand puppets. Naturally I made the puppets talk. I didn't know that it was called ventriloquism or that it was suppose to be difficult. To me it was like walking. I'm not shy and I never had to use puppets to hide behind. On the contrary. I love being front and center on stage belting out a song. To me, Ventriloquism is an art and another form of entertaining.

I have now been a professional/semi for 42 years. I traveled with my act in the seventies and had a ball, but the life on the road was not for me. I came home to Michigan and in 1980 I met the love of my life. I always promised myself that I would never marry a musican (I rarely even dated one) because in my travels I saw the life that most of them led and monagomy was not part of it, usually. But it was love at first sight. Which was hard to believe from a gal who always swore that I would never marry!

Now I find myself married 25 years (half my life)and happy still! I guess the trick is to marry someone who you have a lot in common with. My husband and I are both in a classic rock band called 'Six Foot Poles' and we have a variety act that we call 'Him and me and Dummy Make Three'. We are both Laser Tag champions and have traveled all over the country together. We consider ourselves child free but love and spoil our 12 nephew and nieces and 10 godchildren. But our real babies are our five kitties; Jellybean, Oz, Natasha, (Kitten)Kirk and Turtle. They fill our nuturing needs just fine.

Not long ago I had an old friend say to me that I turned out pretty normal despite my wierd childhood. I think she was referring to the theater part and the fact that my dad turned out to be gay and came out when I was in my teens. But I'm not sure what normal is. To me my life was normal. I had a family who loved me and to me that was what was really important. I wouldn't change any of it because the good and the bad and especially the love has made me who I am.
